Ringside World Championships

Team Nova Scotia sent Stephanie Walker, Wyatt Sanford, Dan Sanford, Josh Jay, Natalie Fagan, Thomas Foster and Josh Prince to compete at the Ringside World Championships.

Stephanie Walker won her first bout and lost a split decision in the semi-finals to the eventual gold medalist, placing 3rd in the 64kg Women's Elite Open weight class. 

Wyatt Sanford won two bouts and lost a split decision in the finals, placing him 2nd in the 64kg Men's Youth Open weight class.

Dan Sanford won two bouts to become the champion of the 69kg Men's Master weight class.

Josh Jay lost his first bout to the eventual silver medalist, placing him 6th in the 64kg Men's Youth Novice weight class.

Natalie Fagan lost her first bout in the finals, placing her 2nd in the 69kg Women's Elite Open weight class.

Thomas Foster lost his first bout to the eventual gold medalist, placing him 5th in the 60kg Youth Men's Open weight class.

Josh Prince won two bouts and lost his third bout in the finals, placing him 2nd in the 69kg Youth Men's Novice weight class.

Everyone fought well the team won 1 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze. Overall the tournament was a huge success and a great experience for all the boxers. They represented our province very well and look forward to compet

 

ing in this tournament again next year.
